What I'm Reading

I am reading a couple of books right now. They are: A Crack in the Edge of the World by Simon Winchester and A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. So, for now, I am tackling some science as both books cover some geology. The Bill Bryson book is clearly written, and it covers a variety of science topics from particle physics to cosmology. You might be familiar with Bill's travel books, and I think you'd find this book easy to read. If you haven't gotten a copy of it yet, you might want to consider getting the illustrated version. As for Simon Winchester, he was trained as a geologist at Oxford, and his book is primarily about the great California earthquake of 1906 in San Francisco. I am interested in this book because I have experienced several earthquakes while living out in California. I've read enough of each of them to give them my recommendation.
