Chi: A New Era In Acrobatics

I saw "Chi: A New Era In Acrobatics" at SUNY Performing Arts Center, Purchase, NY last night. The 30-member troupe hails from Shanghai, China, and the show was truly amazing. I particularly liked the guys leaping and tumbling through hoops. These gymnasts are truly great athletes. I also liked the synchronized foot juggling of umbrellas and spinning blankets—truly incredible. The unicyclist doing the foot bowl flipping to the top of her head was also a fun, acrobatic feat. I enjoyed all of the 16 performances, which ended with "Strong Man." In that event, one man did a head stand on top of another guy's head! It was a great feat of strength and balance. They really put on a fantastic show and I'd recommend seeing them the next time they tour around your area.
